Memories from a week-end markets day....On Easter Sunday we were at Kirribilli fashion markets in Sydney. Throughout the day the weather kept changing from cloudy and windy to sunny and warm. It even sprinkled occassionally but not enough to pack things away and make a run for it. Located just below Milson Point's train station and under the Harbour bridge, it tends to get quite windy at times. I have seen marquees flying away and so far I have been caucious in securing my marquee and stands. Usually every year on Easter Sunday we enjoy a family lunch with my in-laws. However this year as I wanted to be at Kirribilli markets, we had organised the family lunch on Good Friday. My mother and father in-law were looking for an activity on Easter Sunday and they decided to visit the markets. My mother-in-law loved trying out the Red tunic from Anokhi and that automatically became her Mother's Day gift. I thought she carried the 2XL size of the Red tunic beautifully. ![]() Easter Sunday market was much quieter compared to the other months. In the morning we had few customers returning from their Church service and going for their family lunches or just to their home to relax. It was nice to chat with them and get comments on the products. I was happy to see one of my new Helga Black dress was liked by so many ladies. Here are some pictures from that day of our stall and the surroundings.... ![]() For a market stall I have always looked for new ways to display our collection. Last week-end my husband and I went to browse through Rhodes Ikea and found these handy scarf display rings. Ikea can come up with some really good ideas, can't they? ![]() Every month when I go to the markets, I try and carry something different for the table display. This Sunday they were handcrafted Children bedspreads and Fair Trade skirts that I was selling for $10. I also gave 10% off as Easter Special and my customers appreciated that. ![]()
![]() Lots of ladies browsed through the gorgeous Anokhi kaftans. Anokhi is pretty well known in this market and I am not the only one selling them. To my relief we all have different collections of Anokhi. ![]()
![]() A lot of people who visited our markets, like to read about the source of my products. So I made sure I had carried few stories. The new one added to the display was the story of Mesh. ![]()
